Hello! I own an XM1 and unfortunately I dont have the 6300k white balance option (only auto, daylight, shade, incandescent, flourescent 1-3)...is there a way to replicate this using any of the above mentioned white balance options? Really appreciate your help 🙏☺️❤
This is the best informative video I've seen great job thanks
Nice video and nice review. I like that you take pics with film and digitally. I have this lens, the USM type, and I love it. f/1.8 is hard to beat. The reason that the 85mm is so old, is because it's a popular focal length... You probably want a new(er) version of it though. USM is good. // Although I should have opted for the 100mm Macro lens... for the Macro capability. Would that replace my 85mm? Dunno.
Will this work on XT200?
It should work on it. It might look slightly different on any newer generation camera but you’ll get it very close. It should have a great vibe to it. Let me know if you try it. Best of luck!
Honestly, given the price of a used XT2, I really considered buying it, but the video features of the XT3 which could very well last me a long while, and a little thing is the headphone jack being directly on the camera instead of on the battery grip is quite good, especially for taking quick videos that require audio at the same time. Although I read that the XT2's video is still beautiful, while I have the money I might as well get the XT3 because for my use case I want to take both photos and videos I'd be satisfied with.
Love this film sim! I came across it online one day when browsing for recipes not from Fuji x weekly (nothing wrong with FXW just not many recipes for x trans I), and have enjoyed it ever since. I’ve seen some of your videos in the past and didn’t even realize it was the same person. Thanks for sharing this!
I like that you mentioned the part about the graphite one versus the black one. I’ve been looking for a graphite one, but can’t seem to find one right now for under four or $500. I think since the Fuji line started to get so trendy now, everybody wants a Fuji camera - especially a cool graphite retro looking one. I’m hoping the hype slows down sometime soon so I can actually afford to get the graphite one instead of the black.
Hello, as of today, are you still loving it?
I am! Great lens!
Hey Craig, I watched both videos and yes, I could have gotten away with just this one but there was a lot of detail in the first one. Great video! I'm recently fairly handicapped following a massive stroke so I'm looking at alternatives to my old Nikon D7000 and Fujifilm keeps cropping up. Like many other reviewers you concentrate on the sensor and its exceptional colour and B&W rendering capabilities - so are you recommending relying on out-of-the-camera jpeg photos rather than RAW then software editing? That does appeal to me now as I really dislike S/W editing due to the challenge of hands that are very slow and not at all dextrous. Cheers.
Great review, thanks! I love the small f2 Fuji primes for street stuff. But I do notice that the new f1.4 ones do offer significantly better image quality in terms of sharpness, aberrations and general rendering. However I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They are different tools for different situations.
Oh for sure! The new 1.4s are fantastic. It’s good we have solid choices
How low does it let you set the aperture for manual mode? I have a rebel 2000 and it only goes down to 4.0
What lens do you have on your 2000? Usually aperture settings are only limited by your lens. Is it possible your lens only opens up to 4.0? This is often the case with kit lenses like 18-55mm or lenses like that.
Does this printer work with only the black and grey ink cartridges installed? All my work is in black and white and it would save a lot of money.
Unfortunately it does not. I wish it did though!
same, have had it for 5 years now. OVF, AF, BW mode+raw, love everything about it. If anyone knows how to get a decent print of a digital photo looking as good as an old days printed photo, please share..
Is the EOS 1n better at autofocusing than the Elan IIe? Would the 1n be better for good photos?
Great Job! Thank you for sharing - relearning a TON!
Rewatching this playlist as I am getting back into Photography & Video! You're one of THE BEST in VEGAS --- thank you for the awesome information!
X-T2 with the XF 23 f2 and XF 35 f1.4 lens. That's all I need. I also like the X-Trans 3 sensors. Sometimes I miss the IBIS, but then again the camera takes a picture with that certain something.
I have neither, but I have the xpro1 and the xt1 which have the 1st and 2nd gen sensors, the same as the E1 and E2. I actually prefer the gen one sensor. I mean, megapix isn't that huge of an issue since its 16 apiece. but I do love the way it renders colors in the gen one sensor. Especially red.
I am a recent convert to Fujifilm. I managed to get an X-T2 that was “as new.” The photos it can produce are stunning. I was a Canon user but the Fuji allows me to focus more on discovering subjects to photograph rather than fiddle with a camera. The lenses are among the best on the market. Many thanks for producing such an excellent video.
Fantastic job but how do you know when you’re in focus
Really love your recipes. A X-E1 is on it’s way. Although I’m late to the party, I’m very excited.
So good! In my opinion and for my taste, I prefer this over Bright Kodak!
Thank you!
Still worth in 2024!! I love my both X-T1's the black and graphite version!❤
Absolutely! That’s great you have both versions
1:37 You can use manual focus lenses with OVF….
True. You can but they don’t adjust the frame lines so you can account for parallax when framing a shot. Some MF Voigtlander X-mount lenses move the frame lines on the X-Pro3 but not on the X-Pro1 or X-Pro2.
@@CraigBergonzoni … but thats logical, it even is not possible with an expensive analog Leica… but you can use the small focus EVF frame as focus assistant and you will get a feeling for the offset. The farer away the object is, the less it’s important….the small EVF helper within the OVF is a genius strike… hybrid…
bored the shit out of me
Okay
Just added this to my X30 thanks!
Awesome!
Great review but there is nothing more annoying than the "crackling" sound in there...
Understood. I’ve heard that from other people too. Fixing that moving forward
@@CraigBergonzoni By the way, can you check if your camera is registering your EXIF data on the Nokton correctly since the last software update? Mine are registering f22 when I shoot at f1.2…
2024 and I'm receiving a copy this week. Pretty excited.
Hope it’s going well so far!
I purchased my first SLR in 1987. It was the Canon EOS 650, with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I still have both. They still work. I still love them. I also have the EOS 5 (European version of the A2e), which became my favorite film camera. There's never been a need (or desire) to jump from brand to brand. Canon EOS has always given me the features I needed (except the 650 did not have multiple exposures). Once I went digital, it was great not having to start over with lenses.
That's TOOL's Fear Inoculum album right there on the shelf, next to the Nikon camera. A man of culture, I see.
Yes!!! And I always appreciate when people notice!
One of the greatest features of the early XE line is the built-in flash. I’ll never understand why they took that off.
Great point!
I had the Rebel G and went to the Elan 7e. Still great cameras.
Absolutely great cameras!
You can easily adjust the hard stop for infinity focus. And for people saying it’s for compensation of the thermal expansion : I travel from freezing cold areas to the hottest ones, never had an issue. And if so, it would take 10min to set it back. Also, some high grade manual lenses don’t have this buffer and are very well calibrated from factory… Really try it, it then becomes a dream to shoot at infinity focus :)
I'm interested in this. How would you adjust the hard stop for infinity? Couldn't find anything online.
@@RevynStrider remove the 4 screws on the lens mount. Carefully remove the mount without damaging the electronic band behind, Then put some shims before putting back the lens mount. You can buy a shim set for airsoft for example, with shims from 0.1mm to 0.3mm. Then, take pictures on a tripod and make some tests :)
Thanks for the info!!
Great video You have still the Pro 2?
Too much rambling. Perhaps write out your thoughts. Stay on topic. To much of this video is asking what people want from your videos. What I want from this video is your input on the XE4 and XT30ii. 😊
Cool. Thanks for the feedback
Hey, would you recommend still getting the X-T2 or X-T20 for 479€ used? My focus is about 60% video and 40% photo and i don't care about viewfinders. If not i'd go with the ZV-E10 for 479€ user as well.
i forgot to mention the a6500 would be another option.
what did you go with? these are my options and goals right now! 60 percent vid; 40 percent photo
@highermusic111 I managed to pick up an A6500 for 500€. Since I want to upgrade to full-frame in the next few years, I chose the Sony E-mount and bought a full-frame lens. To be honest, based on your needs, I'd recommend the A6500, A6100 (it can't shoot in log tho, but might be the cheapest of all three), or the ZV-E10 (it can record gyroscope data). Just go with whichever is the cheapest of the three. Spec-wise, the two Fujis might be better, but they lack good lens selection and software support. PS: If you have a little more budget, wait until summer, the ZV-E10 Mark II might be crazy good for its expected price.
just buy 2ndhand last week :)
what software did you use to input the portrait sized images?
nice set - really love the sunset ones of the LVS and the neon lights! I always look for dogs when I;'m traveling so I liked those too :)
Glad I bought mine two years ago. Good review thanks.
Watching this on 2024 cause I just saw a xt1 on fb marketplace in mint condition with 3k shuttercount only. Prob is I dont have money rn 😭
Hi Thank you for a presise connsructive review of this lens. I will seriously look at purchasing thia X mount lens to add to mt XT20 Phil 🦊uk
Very interesting and inspiring. I have a X-E3.
Interesting points here for sure. I admire Fujifilm and have for years. They make beautiful cameras and I love the colors. There's no shame in camera brands, artistry is everywhere! Nice points, good discussion !
Thank you! And I love Leicas for sure. And like I’ve said, when I can get the money for the one I want, I’ll have a Leica. Hopefully I’ll have both systems going.
How do you like selling prints on darkroom? Saw some nice ones in there - love all the black and white!
I totally get it- the prices are insane - hopefully you find your way back to film! Also, this binder is a great idea to store the negs
Thank you! I should do a 2024 update on this topic. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since that video. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
not informative, likes to hear himself talk, waste of time
Cool. Thanks for watching anyway, Don.
@@CraigBergonzoni I couldn't watch the whole thing!
@donbethel7675 Okay
Craig i like this lens for b&w and the sheen it has in the negative space. I have the 18/2. Was going to sell it to get something else but saw a photographers b&w of his boat which was @f16 which is the sweet spot of this lens. I normally avoid f16 and 22 because of artifacts when printing but not when it comes to the 18/2. f16 is amazing. Is the 50/2 sharp in the corners @f16 and f11?
What I like about this camera is its simplicity and silence. On the downside, and probably the reason why it's so cheap, is that one of the foams used eventually disintegrates on the shutter. And if nothing is done, failure is inevitable. This happened to mine, and I got out of it a few years ago by gently cleaning the shutter blades with cotton buds and C petrol, if I remember well... I haven't had a problem since then, and it still works great! 🙂
Tengo una xt1 , xpro2 y una canon 7d b&w y sin duda mi xt1es mi favorita.
